Oct. 1st, 2005 @ 02:47 am Unlike everyone who saw Serenity tonight, I went to go see MirrorMask
When a pair of artists like Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean are given free reign to make any kind of movie they want with a 4 million budget. They did amazing things visually with what's considered low budget for a fantasy film. Unfortunately they didn't make a particularly engrossing plot, but the sights and sounds of the world that these two have created more than make up for it. Besides, how could you go wrong with a movie that as gratuitous cube?

Why oh why did mr_wes forsake us and not come along to see the movie? mr_mking and I just couldn't conjure up enough cattiness to make fun of the vast numbers of indie kids in their black turtlenecks and the wannabe goth kiddies with their Johnny the Homicidal Maniac t-shirts. Such is the fate of those who see movies in "independent" theatres.

I like E-street too, but much of their standard crowd is so stereotypical that it's painful.

We should organize a trip to see that new Tysons 1 expansion. Apparently they put in a bunch of neat stores, and we get to mock the general mall going populace while we're there.
