Finally realizing that I'm probably living well below my means(sharing a house with 3 other people), I decided to rent out a one bedroom condo to live in. The place is a similar size as the basement that I was renting before. I'm definitely enjoying the privacy of not having housemates to deal with, and having a reserved garage spot is a pleasant change from having to fight over the limited parking at my last place. Pictures will be posted later once I get my new camera - I ultimately decided to get myself a Canon Digital Rebel XT for myself for my birthday. My main gripe is that I decided to move into a gated facility, which means that now in a typical workday I'm dealing with about a dozen assorted various security measures just to get through the day.

Speaking of work, I finally had the chance to see what all the fuss was about in putting in extended hours to get a demo. Made for a great time to move in not really having much free time to pack/unpack. I did have to attempt not to gag upon overhearing the line "We're thinking about switching from Linux to Windows because of the security problems on Linux."

Seeing many of the actions of Google recently have made me curious:

I prefer living alone anyway. There is something really nice about it.

I want to see pictures of your new place. The old one felt kinda condo to me, anyway.

Same area? Same commute? Has your car been hit in the parking lot yet?

I knew it was one of those things that's hard to give up on voluntarily once you start doing it, so I figured I'd try the other as an experiment. But ultimately that idea fizzled and failed. I'm pretty much in the same area, though it's a bit closer to the highway.

I thought "living beyond one's means" meant that you were spending more than you were getting in. You were living will forward of your means.

Quite true, I used the wrong word. Should've been below. Though I don't have a living will yet =P

While Google is good in a lot of ways ("Don't be evil", giving me free pizza in various ways, etc.), the logging of everything makes me somewhat suspicious.

You say evil like it's a bad thing . . .

I agree with Kevin... Evil is the new good!
