Aug. 8th, 2005 @ 10:42 am Notes from the weekend
Now that princessdiablo has left for Miami, we can have nice things again!
The solution to having an uber fast work laptop that I can't install games on, is to buy a separate laptop hard drive and swap it in and out.
Failed .coms in warehouses make for excellent restauraunts with fabuluous cuisine and terriffic service(to a fault at times). The transition is even better when they keep the decorations of the .com, and use a very "hip" name like eCitie.
Kobe beef(even the cheaper American variant), is quite delectable and melts in one's mouth.
Lying to the waitress and implying that we're there celebrating a birthday(mine's in 2 weeks), causes much confusing in deciding where the bill goes.
Portugese club music sounds amazingly like club music here in the states. Abba doesn't make for particularily good club music.
Despite the stature of a Ford F150, a simple curb proves to be too much for one to handle.
uberfluffy is the 3d Tetris master, though he does often get the directions of up and sideways confused.
I need a digital SLR. Maybe I should buy myself one for my birthday.
Now that drspooky, theadana, and the hated alphabetically are in town, our license to have nice things have been horribly revoked.

I managed to get the license while she was out of town for a month, after convincing them that she wasn't coming back.

Why do you think I lost the license to have them?

That *was* a pretty damn cool place. I had no idea what to expect, but I'd definitely go back for dinner. I think I'd pass on the "club-ish" side (meep) but neat decor and very impressively good food, especially for the price sells me on the dinner side.

Good choice!

Yeah, I need to make more of an effort to try out some of the nicer restaurants in this area. Unfortunately I hate going to nice places alone, and it's oftentimes hard to convince people to spend the cash on a nice place...

I think people could get out periodically. I like going to nice places. My mom's spoiled me in that respect. Since my parents families never had the money to go out when they were young, we have gotten to go to some pretty nice places in this area. And there are lots.

Theoretically I'll be in the neighborhood more in the future at some point, and I'd certainly be up for it. Particularly with some planning, we could probably drag others along.

Yes, get a Digital SLR. All the cool kids are doing it! ...not that I want to get one too or anything like that...
