Thanks to Heather, I now have a copy of Adobe Video Collection Professional So now I can actually legally edit all of those various videos that I've been working on. It's amazing that now that I have a real job, the software that's now on my desktop is almost entirely legit, as opposed to my college days, when I'd have nary a piece of legitimate software.

Speaking of jobs, any of you that would be interested in a position at Google can check out http://www.google.com/googleblog/2004/07/warning-we-brake-for-number-theory.html If you can solve both of these puzzles, they'll give you a link to a better hookup for getting a job at Google. At the very least, they are a pair of fun number theory problems.

Also, for the hat trick of random links: Why the French aren't allowed to have nice things

How'd you get the Adobe Video Collection? Was it significantly cheaper?

I know it sound stupid, but I wish I could buy the Premiere 6.5 collection since I'd rather have that and I dont' care what version of AE or PS I get.

I picked it up for $100, since my friend works at Adobe, and is allowed to buy a handful of copies of each piece of software that they sell every year. Thus I lucked out and snagged the full Video Collection set for this year. Premiere 6.5 is probably pretty hard to find now. I think your best chance is to buy a random editing/capture board that comes bundled with it nowadays.

That dude in the audience looked just like Rip Taylor. I was expecting a bucket of confetti at any moment....
