I don't use my LJ for anything anymore, though I suppose I could always mirror my actual blog. But LJ's probably the venue of choice for Fantasy Football discussion:

Not the best photo, but a decent sample

We'll see if I actually make any inroads into my huge backlog of photos, or if this trip to China(and siteseeing in Jiuzhaiguo+Huanglong) will just add to it.

What, were you expecting some kind of political diatribe?

Yesterday I woke up to the smell of Axe body spray, and the feeling that I should be regret something. I think I achieved the full frat party experience the night before.

Maybe I'll start working on my 2 year backlog of posting photos while at the beach.

I couldn't sleep a couple nights back so I started working through my 2+ year backlog of photos that I've yet to place online. Here's a pile of photos at the Hubbard glacier from my Alaskan cruise last year. No clever commentary to go along with it, as it's a huge ass pile of ice that doesn't do much.

Not that I'd ever think I'd be rooting for the Giants, but any team that beats the Cowboys and the Patriots when it matters gets a thumbs up from me. Eli's fourth quarter maneuvering certainly showed how badly he wanted to keep it in the family. But wow that was definitely the best Super Bowl game that I've seen(3 lead changes in the forth quarter is SICK!)

And now to get tickets for the PARTY TRAIN!

Wasn't too excited about it since I'm still in the n00b levels of Guitar Hero, but I bought into the rumors of them running out for the holiday season and figured I should mitigate the risk in case I do want it.  Not sure if I want to keep it for myself or return/resell it...

EDIT: Ok, now I own two copies of it, though one's for [info]sertrel.

So my computer died last night, conveniently right before a LAN party. Apparently writing to various bits in memtest86 is too hard for my computer. But that desktop's had a decent run(1.5 years), so I guess I should look into my options for this weekend and gaming in general:

Good: Getting good food from Les Halles by celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain. And for a DC restaurant, the prices were very reasonable for the level of food offered. The fries were certainly distinctive there, and paired with the steaks it was an interesting experience.
Bad: Quality of service at Les Halles. From where they failed to actually have our reservation(though they had a table for us anyways), to the waiter just not giving a shit about getting us things that we ordered, it just soured what could've been a very pleasant dining experience.

Good: Having live music with dinner.
Bad: Having a band who only had poorly done cover songs in their repertoire. Though [info]smoovygee was inspired enough to come up with a guitar hero cover bad.

Good: Going to a concert in the historic synagogue in DC. It was(as practically every opening band mentioned), one of the nicest concert venues that we'd been in. Just for [info]kusoyaro, here's a crappy iPhone photo of stellstarr* rocking out
Bad: The acoustics(while not terrible) weren't particularly great for rock music. My ears are still ringing two days later. I definitely need to start bringing earplugs to concerts just in case.

Good: The opening bands actually ranged from mediocre(Sanawon) to impressive(Exit Clov). The last opening band Pela was very energetic, and the lead singer was very interested in completely rocking out on the altar(or whatever the Jewish equivalent is). But it was certainly a nice change of pace from the typical opening bad where I'm staring at my watch waiting for the headliner to come on. A bunch of us even wound up buying the EPs from Exit Clov.
Bad: I usually love going to stellastarr* concerts, but this one didn't quite do it for me. Maybe it was the hint of echoing from the synagogue. Or perhaps it was just sitting in close proximity to the speakers. They did play a bunch of new stuff which has yet to be put on a new album, though it was interspersed with their old hits.

Good: Making it to the metro station just as our train was arriving.
Bad: Making it to the metro parking lot to find a 2 foot long gash on my driver side door where some idiot hit me hard enough to scrape paint off. And the bastards didn't leave a note. I accept dings here and there from overly tight parking spaces, but taking the paint off of a car is just rude.

I have a Xbox 360 now, so that I can play the wonderousness of Super Puzzle Fighter II HD Remix(and maybe some Bioshock).

My gamerid is unsurprisingly BogoSort. Add me and we can do Livey things.
